A couple of dozen members were involved in parkruns this weekend, and certainly the farthest flung was Dave Baker, who did his 50th park run at the Roma Caffarella one of 33 runners and finishing 11th in a time of 24.11.  Certainly a very special place to do your 50th parkrun!

At Fountains Abbey, Mike Cropper was fastest club member, 48th out of almost 500 in 21.30, with Alan Docherty taking 29.05 and Laura Rodmell 29.54. Also present were Amanda Johnson, Gillian Crane, Paul Adams and Diana Williams.  Thomas Gwillam continued his good form at Millfield, 15th out of 295 in 22.15, with Bronwyn Mayo 32nd, and 4th lady, in 22.54, Lorraine Hiles, 23.20, Stuart Waters in PB 24.27, Clare Gwillam, Natalie Lyth, Rob Lickley and Pete Jackson running with his young son, Rohan. Paul Atkinson and Phillip Craig were at Northallerton, Nicky Hawkes at Thorp Perrow, Laura Till at Stewart Park, Annie Hedger at Darlington, and at one of the hardest park runs in the country, Allison Whiteley and Craig Atherton were at Winlatter Forest.
Alan Harman likes something even more testing and entered one of the Wild Deer events at Derwent Reservoir. You could choose 5 or 10 miles and Alan, of course, chose the 10, with a total of 500 runners altogether.  A foggy, frosty morning greeted runners for the start but when the sun came out at about half way, you could appreciate the beautiful scenery, if you had the time to look, and well worth a future more relaxing visit!  He took a creditable 1.51.05.
45 members took part in the monthly time trial on Monday, with Josh Cooper recording the fastest time, 12.53, closely followed by Cameron Balmain, 12.58 and fastest lady, Bronwyn Mayo, taking 14.14.  Thanks to Duncan Fothergill for masterminding this event and having the results out very speedily.
There is still time to enter Thirsk 10, including Wheelchair Race, at Thirsk Racecourse on March 17th, 10 am.  Plenty of free parking.  Full details on the club website.
