In the context of the Fell Runners Association (FRA), the term is Race Organiser, or “RO,” not director. A “Race Organiser” is responsible for the safety, organisation, and execution of a fell running event, and must adhere to FRA rules and requirements for registration. The term “Race Director” is sometimes used in other sports contexts and has a similar meaning but “Race Organiser” is the specific term used by the FRA.
