Easter Sunday dawned beautiful, perfect for starting out on the Helmsley 10k Multi Terrain Challenge – multi terrain it was, and certainly a challenge.  The start is a long uphill on road and leads on through trails, woodland tracks, with plenty of undulations, over fields to the finish.  Alan Simpson was first club finisher, 64th out of 323 in 47.41, with Trudy Morrice 89th and 3rd F50 in 49.04 and Lorraine Hiles 95th, and 1st F55, in 49.37.  Louise Mayfield took 51.49, Dave Baker 53.53, David Tervit 56.00 and Rob Lickley 74.12.  Trudy's son Matthew came 52nd in 46.05.  An Easter egg for all finishers added to the festive atmosphere and feeling of well being!

Another bumper turnout was there for the Fountains Abbey park run, Easter Saturday being probably one of the busiest days of the year, with lots of visitors from all around the country and beyond enjoying the beauty of the abbey, at its best in the sunshine.  Mike Cropper was again fastest in 20.31, gradually getting nearer his PB time.  Bronwyn Mayo was next in 23.09 and other members were Stuart Hill, daughter Rosie, Alan Docherty, Nigel Morgan and Paul Adams, with Kerry Morgan acting as tail walker.  Thomas Gwillam, 22.16, Esther Harrison, 22.17 and 3rd lady, and Clare Gwillam were at Millfield,  and Rob and Christine Burn, with Laura Till separating them, were at Northallerton.

A bit further afield, Annie Hedger was at Roundhay Park, Pete Jackson at Marshall Drive, Brotton, Hilary Coventry at Conyngham Hall, Natalie Lyth at the Jubilee event, Nicky Hawkes at Salcey Forest with Rosie Gatenby and Lorraine Hiles among the 120 at Hamsterley Forest, Lorraine perhaps pacing herself before the Challenge the next day!
