Date:  Saturday 7th March 2026

Time:  Doors open 2pm, films start 2:30pm and finish around 4pm

Place:  Ritz Cinema, 16 Westgate, Thirsk YO7 1QS

Join your fellow club members to watch an exclusive show of running related films and shorts on the big screen at our wonderful community Ritz Cinema in Thirsk. The films are generally of an adventurous nature, expect endeavour, endurance, achievement and thrills! Several diverse films combine to make a showreel duration of a maximum of 90 minutes. This event has been especially organised just for you, our wonderful club members so please support it. Initially we are offering you advance sales, thereafter we are inviting other local running clubs too if there is space. Don’t delay – book today.

Tickets are only available via the TaSH club shop and at just £5 are even cheaper even than the usual Ritz tickets because the club is for its members and this is for you. You may purchase additional tickets for your partner/family.

There are 150 tickets available for this one-off event – a ticket gets entry but seats are not reserved as is normal at the cinema. As there may be some (very very occasional)strong language in a couple of these adrenaline charged films they have classified the collection of films as ’12A’ BBFC guidance states – Films rated 12A are suitable for children aged 12 and over. However, people younger than 12 may see a 12A so long as they are accompanied by an adult. In such circumstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult.

The cinema’s kiosk will be open for sweet, drink and ice-cream sales – please support you local volunteer run cinema by buying your goodies there.

There will be a cut off for ticket sales of Friday the 6th of March at mid-night – There will be no ‘on the door’ sales, you must pre-book through the TaSH shop.

You will have no difficulty doing the Championship Race at  Stewart parkrun, Middlesbrough the same day (morning) and getting to the LMFF show in the afternoon, you won’t miss out!

LMFF 2026

Please also note the Ritz is hosting LMFF films on regular evening showings on Sunday the 8th, 15th and 22nd of March. These features do not contain any of films you will see on running at the social as each night is a different theme. Climbing & Mountaineering, Snow Sports (ski & boarding) & Two Wheels (cycling, mainly off road). If you enjoyed the social, why not try those too – see the Ritz or LMFF website for further details.

About London Mountain Film Festival:

The London Mountain Film Festival (LMFF) is on a mission to revolutionise the adventure film industry. LMFF is here to support adventure filmmakers and communities with a passion for the outdoors, adventure sports, and many further ways in which we humans interact with our beautiful planet. LMFF does this by collecting new films from around the world and distributing them online in such a way that communities are empowered to host their own mini-festivals or film nights in venues that are local to them.

“Adventure people are naturally adventurous, so they are up for organising these events and they like to give something back,” said LMFF founder and director Greg Hackett. “We’re so proud of our hosts and delighted to have found a festival model that works for them, is kinder to the environment and spreads positivity and inspiration.”
