TaSH Beginners ready to take on Millfield parkrun!
Saturday 4th July, a day that’s accustomed to being celebrated but not usually for this reason: this Saturday was the culmination of all the hard work the 2026 TaSH Beginners Group have put in over the last 10 weeks, with the beginners running their first 5k at Millfield parkrun. To make it even more significant, this year’s finishing 5k coincided with Millfield’s 300th parkrun! Which, remarkably, was attended by exactly 300 runners. A massive congratulations to the members of the beginners’ group for all the time and effort they’ve put into reaching their first 5k! And from the coaches: ‘We’re so proud of everyone who took part in the programme. Every participant has shown incredible commitment, determination and encouragement for one another, proving that consistency really does pay off’.

And rounding off the weekend, Sunday found Sam Wainwright completing the Great North 10k in Newcastle in a time of 37:56. Congratulations to Sam, and good luck to him as he continues his training for the Great North Run in September.

Hopping back in time to last Tuesday – a good turnout of Harriers was to be seen at the 4th of this year’s HDSRL races at Ilkley. A BIG hill and a whole lot of rain made for a bit of slog, but all 38 Harriers made it home (perhaps the lure of pie and peas helped) with Paul Peacock leading the TaSH charge in 31:54, closely followed by Esther Harrison in 32:00.
