Mince pies and chocolates tempted runners out to the festive Northallerton Park Run on Christmas Day to work up an appetite for lunch, and well done to all the volunteers who made the run possible. 130 runners in total turned up, and Andy Whiteley was fastest club member out of those, 18th in 22.43, with Fran Jefferey making a real effort to get out of bed for only her 3rd park run, 27th in 25.06, Allison Whiteley 95th in 33.43 and how good to see Tracy Hayden out, 106th in 35.14.
Christmas was in the air on Saturday, Christmas Eve, with lots of Santa outfits on show at Millfield, and Matt Jones was fastest, 6th out of 220 in PB 19.05, Richard Grant 11th in 19.47, Esther Harrison 17th, and 2nd lady this week, in PB 20.15, Walter Busuttil 39th in 22.21 and Lorraine Hiles 47th in 23.06. It was good to see Olivia Mulligan out and she took 25.35, with Sarah Fairhurst 23.36, Paul Adams, usually at Fountains Abbey but that didn't take place this week, 33.28, Rob Lickley 34.23 and Ian Codling, walking and running, 50.47.
At Northallerton, Paul Atkinson came 32nd out of 159 in 23.35 with Katie Wadsworth 36.04, Phillip Craig 36.34 and Richard Easby 39.25.
Further afield, Gary Wilkinson at Goole was 33rd out of 23.24 and Jason McLaughlin was among the massive field of 1361 at Bushy, coming 317th in 23.38.
