Dave Baker found himself the ideal run at the weekend, the York Chocolate 10k, where mementos were all chocolate and the medal was in the shape of a chocolate bar.  The race happened on the Knavesmire, York and over 200 people finished, out of which Dave came a very creditable 46th in 59.34.  It was certainly warm for running but the heat didn't seem to melt all the chocolate!
Chocolate isn't on Criag Atherton's agenda but exercise certainly is, and with his running buddy, Allison Whiteley, and frequent running, he has lost a huge amount of weight!  The pair were at Kiplin Hall last week for a friendly, rural, 10k trail race with 193 finishers.  Allison was 94th in 57.05, Craig 98th in 57.49, and ahead of both of them, in 80th place, was Richard Soper.  Phillip Craig acted as sweeper, collecting up the signage as he went along.

Parkrunners were spread far and wide, with maybe the furthest Pedro Carrasco at Kommander See, Germany.  Parkruns in Europe are less frequent than here, but maybe they will catch up on such a fabulous phenomenon, and Pedro finished 6th out of 28 in 23.54.  Marc and Bev Davies were among the 82 at Dolgellau with Marc 33rd in 26.16 and Bev 76th in 37.34.

Kerry Morgan had always wanted to find a Kerry Park Run, but the nearest she was able to get was the Killarney House event where the field was 102 and the welcome was friendly (as it always seems to be at parkruns wherever you are!)  She was joined by husband, Nigel, and Ian and Gillian Crane.

Other park runners were at Fountains Abbey (7), Northallerton (9), Millfield (7),  and one each at York, Wetherby, Harrogate, Redcar  and Horton Park.
The Dave Parry Summer Fell Race Series came to an end with the last race, and Trudy Morrice had an outstanding season, 2nd overall among the ladies – the first time ever that Thirsk and Sowerby have had such a highly placed finisher – and 1st F50,  Many congratulations, Trudy.
