Tom Levi was in his element at the weekend, finishing 3rd out of almost 1700 runners on the fast, flat East Coast 10k at Scarborough in a brilliant time of 34.31. Matt Jones also managed under 40 minutes, 21st in 37.52. Very well done to both. Allison Whiteley and Craig Atherton, running together, took 68.39 and well done to them too.
An altogether bigger ask were the races at the Yorkshire Marathon Festival, in its 10th year this year. A marathon or a 10 mile distance were on offer and though both were fairly flat, they were by no means easy. Stuart Waters and Dave Baker undertook the 10 mile race, which started at the University before heading into the city, by the Minster, and out towards Osbaldwick and the turnaround. On a perfect morning for running, Stuart took 1.20.02 and Dave 1.32.58.

Support from the crowds was very welcome, perhaps even more so to the marathon runners, who also started at the university, by the Minster, and out into the country through villages towards Stamford Bridge and back to the start. Joe Joyce took 5.00.31 with Pete Jackson not far behind in 5.02.53 and both were very pleased to see the finish!

In the Ripon Ultra Relays last week, the Happy Harriers team consisted of Will Jagger, Pedro Carrasco, Trish Radford and Lucy Sillars.
The club AGM was held on Wednesday, with a good turnout of members in attendance at Thirsk Athletic Club. There was a big turn round at the top with Alan Docherty being elected Chairman and Trudy Morrice Vice Chair. Other new committee members were Lucy Sillars, Josh Cooper, Adam Harper-Walker and Alan Simpson, with Kerry Morgan and Kimberli Werner continuing their very excellent work as secretaries. Thanks and presentations were made to retiring members, Helen Ashworth, Hilary Coventry, Geoff Bullock. Pedro Carrasco, Matt Jones and Craig Atherton.
9 members were among the 427 at Fountains Abbey, with Laura Till, in her 3rd park run, taking PB 35.41. Eight were at Millfield, with Gary Wilkinson continuing his superb form to come 5th out of 167 in 19.27 and Clare Gwillam finishing 58th in her 58th park run!
