After wholesale cancellations of local parkruns following several days of wind, gales and heavy rain connected with Storm Babet, who could believe that Sunday would dawn fine and dry for the Whixley 10k and 5k? It was a real bonus for the organisers of this pleasant multi terrain village race, where the off road parts were definitely muddy with standing water in parts. Our three members involved made light work of it with Olivia Mulligan finishing 20th, and 4th lady, in 47.09 in the 10k, and Lorraine Hiles not far behind, 23rd and 1st F50 in 47.48. Kirsty Naylor came 47th in 53.05 and afterwards, all sat in the sun enjoying the superb bacon sandwiches!

Hilary Coventry took 25.39, Helen Ashworth PB 26.30, Andy Butcher and Mike Cropper in a sprint finish for 29.29, Alison Butcher 31.16 and Christine Burn 33.44.
There were 159 at Northallerton and Bronwyn Mayo took 25.18, Pete Jackson 27.18, Paul Atkinson 27.39, Ken Evitt 31.17 and Diana Williams 39.18. Allison Whiteley, among the 310 at Darlington South Park took 35.00.
