There is always something going on within the club. Make sure you are part of it. Here are the latest prompts to make sure you don’t miss out.
27th – 30th August. Virtual mountain race. See the website virtual races for finer details. Anyone can take part. You don’t have to be a member of a team which were selected 2 months. Just go out and enjoy the challenge. Post your times and see how you did compared with everyone else. At the time of going to press team Fiji looked to be team to beat!!
Monday 31st August. 5.45 – 6.00pm start. Please note the early start time.
Sowerby Gateway. Fun and games. For those who are regular attendees on a bank holiday expect more of the same. It won’t be easy but it will be fun. Tonight we all train together.
Wednesday 2nd September. 6.30- 6.45 start.
You are all invited to our garden ( Rob and Christine) at Bagby YO7 2PH. Please park at the entrance to the village near the play park area. Not on the crocus or daffodils. The road outside our house is narrow and easily gets blocked ( then people get grumpy etc ) We live on the right around 200 metres in. Look for the club flag in the front garden and follow the way through to the back. Everyone is invited, whether you have run the mountain race or not. If you have children, family, friend etc bring them along too. We are a family club and you are all welcome to join in. Come changed prepared to take part in a rolling core session which is set up around the arboretum ( Back field!!) Supper arrives at approx 7.30pm. There will be a voluntary collection, for those who wish, towards crocus bulbs which is hoped will be planted at the entrance to the gateway near where we train. Most of all, it’s important you come along and enjoy the night. Don’t forget some warm clothing for when you have finished ,It has started to get colder/ darker all of a sudden. All we want is for it to be dry.
Friday 4th September. Coffee and chat. 2-4 pm. Thirsk Garden Centre.
This is the first Friday of the month. ( Did you remember?) You are all welcome and it will be great to see you all.
London Marathon Entry. If anyone is interested in running for a charity then please see me for details. I do have a London Marathon entry available.
Mile Marker.
The 2 mile mile marker has gone missing from the trail on the Cleveland Way. It’s not something someone would want to take home so I’m guessing those responsible for removing it from it’s fixed position will have sent it into the forestry not too far from where they found it. If anyone has any spare time(I’m thinking maybe a training group!!) it would be worth having a scout around below where it was situated. The marker was placed exactly around two miles from the starter marker which is placed at the edge of the nightjar car park.
Keep running, keep smiling and see you all soon, Rob
Ps. If you want to take part in the Yorkshire vets and NYSD xcountries please send me your details asap.
