Hi everyone

Yet again, another hugely successful THIRSK 10 in the bag.

Thanks to each and everyone who has helped, whether you’ve supported, cheered, run, cycled, registered, watered, driven, collected, bagged, photographed, car parked, fun run helpers, scouts, sign erected, marshalled or been at the end of my phone calls and emails to answer my never ending questions. A day like today doesn’t happen without a team, it’s no one individual.

A special mention to the THIRSK 10 sub committee of Liz, Chris, Geoff, Matt, Hugh, Paul and of course our top Head Marshal Phillip and our Vice Chair Hilary who has had to listen to me droning on about THIRSK 10 since December! Thanks for everything and for having my back.

👏🏼

Paul Chapman, and helper Ewan, has a great collection of behind-the-scenes photos that are going on our website very soon, so thanks for those Paul. Some real classics and a couple of my favourites that capture what a great bunch you are.

Well done to our club runners too, who between them have some great PBs. Having your fellow members cheer you on is awesome.

Our first aiders said it was a quiet day at the office with only 2 runners visiting them after completing the race after an asthma and a panic attack, so that’s good news.

We had 34 late entries today and 1 wheelchair racer who won 2nd!
Dame Tanni Grey Thompson and husband Ian came and supported us, and Tanni went round with the last wheelchair racer whilst Ian raced himself. The fastest wheelchair racer, Callum Hall, wanted 40 minutes, and led superbly by John Withinshaw on his bike, managed a fab 39:59!

The race winner was Graham Rush who is a V40(!) from Leeds City AC and ran a fantastic 49:04 breaking our old course record from 2020 of 51:54. May for perspective the first 3 finishers beat the course record! A fast day at THIRSK 10 with last years winner, Rob Scott finishing 7th.

Thanks one and all, be kind to yourself tonight.
I shall definitely sleep.
