Ideal conditions for the monthly time trial last night and we tried running two different races at the same time. It’s difficult to please everyone but we don’t want people sitting at home when they need to be joining in. It worked and thanks for your cooperation. Thanks to all those who helped in any way.
If we are running on courses you are not familiar with then it is up to you to arrive early and see where you are going. With such huge numbers taking part we need to get the first runners away pretty early or we will be on all night. I notice quite a few people are arriving a little bit later than usual at the outside sessions. Arrive late for the inside groups you will not get into the School. All the coaches have strict instructions to start promptly at 7pm. This is critical during the winter for the outside group. Standing around in a group getting cold is not what it’s all about.
Just at the minute I have a back injury which makes it’s painful to sit, bend down or even stand up. Even worse than all this is that I can’t run. Last night I watched and cheered on those who were running the time trial. I get to see you all giving your very best. Who was the person I saw running around the car park on the North West corner of the Gateway? You don’t know your right from your left. Strava will reveal all.
I keep getting told there are lights not working on the gateway. Please could you count how many and what colour. It could be a pleasant distraction during your next training session. It will help when Mr Mender comes to do the repairs.
