T&SH Basic Skills Map Reading Workshop

This workshop will be an introduction to map reading, but will also apply to those with some knowledge who are after a refresher.
Your instructors for the day will be Paul Chapman and Josh Cooper.

We will spend the day identifying features on a map and applying them to the ground.

The first part of the day will be inside and theory based, with the second half being practical and outside.

AM – Gateway Track Pavilion

Bring your own lunch and drinks

Car Share on to North York Moors – Location to be confirmed.

PM – Outside – Please come dressed for the weather and bring usual kit for a fell race in November (waterproof etc).
There could be a little running but also some standing around on the moor.

If you have a OS map of the North York Moors – West (1:25000) and a compass, please bring it.
Don’t worry if you don’t have them A3 copies of the map will be available.
