Virtual XC at the Wikeley’s 24th – 27th November 2022
Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th November 2022. ( inclusive)
This is the final club championship race of the year 2022. Open to all members, non- members, invited guests and friends. ( bring someone along with you if you like.)
By kind invitation of Alan and Margaret, Water Hall Farm, Knayton, YO7 4BB This is an every day working farm so please read instructions carefully.
This is a two lap cross-country course on a working farm. There are lots of ins and outs, ups and downs, and lots of uneven surfaces. You wouldn’t expect anything different.
Just to make things a little more interesting there is going to be lots of mud too. ( I especially asked for this)
There have to be rules and here they are:
The farm and x-country course are on the left. The car park is on the right. Look out for the club vest / car park marker.
The course opens at 9am and everyone to be completed by 4pm on each of the 4 days.
The course will be marked out well in advance but please respect the owners privacy. No-one to be on the premises before race days without prior consent. However, collecting of all markers on the final day just before dusk will be very much appreciated.
This year the race is slightly longer, approx 6k / 3k per lap. A map is attached, and there will be one posted close to the start line for all to see, but I recommend everyone walk the route first. If you get lost it will be your fault. Wasted time= wasted energy.
You can run the route as many times as you like but your first run has to be the time you submit. All other runs can be called training runs and carried out to support others.
Please submit all times before 8pm Sunday 27th November through the submission button below.
The tent / changing room be will in the same place as usual if it’s not too windy. Don’t paddle mud all over the plastic sheet flooring. If it’s windy come changed ready to run.
There will be sheep (and maybe one cow) running around in the fields. This is normal on a farm. They will not harm you. Please leave all gates and fences as you find them.
Club vest / t-shirt to be worn to count in the championship.
Alan and Margaret have put a lot of effort into this event for you all to enjoy. They are fantastic hosts and we thank them very much. Please support this challenge. Remember, being busy is not a reason, it’s just an excuse. You can all manage to take part in this event.
