Race Organiser Rob would like participants in this year’s Virtual Mountain Race to help him raise funds for a great project to plant bulbs in our club colours at the Gateway (see below). Rob and Christine work hard every year to organize and prepare all our virtual races. As a celebration, they are inviting us to their garden in Bagby for a special training night on Wed Sep 2nd. The club has kindly agreed to provide pizzas for everyone and as always, it’s free to enter the race. All we ask is for you to lend your support to Rob’s project in lieu of a race fee. Team results and presentation of prizes will take place during supper.
You can donate by cash or card on the night or anytime by BACS:
Account name: THIRSK AND SOWERBY H
Sort Code: 54-41-24
Account number: 54841631
Reference: VMRBULBS
Suggested donation: £5-£10 per person or more! Equivalent to a typical fell race entry fee.
From Rob:
Last year we had a collection on the night for the children in Zambia. This year the chosen fund raiser is for the planting of crocus bulbs (only blue and yellow of course) which we hope to plant as a club on the entrance of the gateway. It will make us feel welcome as we come out of winter into spring training.
